Terms & Conditions
Mainspring · 305 Phahonyothin Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand
Last Updated: 18 June 2025 · Effective: 18 June 2025
These terms set out the basis on which Mainspring provides watch repair and restoration services. By leaving a watch in our care or submitting an enquiry that leads to a service agreement, you accept these terms. Please read them at your own pace before proceeding.
1. About Us
Mainspring is a specialist watch repair workshop operating at 305 Phahonyothin Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand. We carry out mechanical watch servicing, regulation, water resistance work, and complication care. We do not operate as a retailer or dealer.
2. Estimates & Quotations
Any estimate given before the bench begins is based on visible condition and the information you provide. Estimates are not binding. Once the movement has been opened and assessed, we will confirm the scope and cost of work with you before proceeding.
If the confirmed price differs materially from the initial estimate, we will pause work and contact you. No service will proceed without your agreement to the confirmed cost.
3. Service Agreement
A service agreement is formed when you confirm your acceptance of the quoted scope and price, whether verbally, in writing, or by signing a workshop intake record. At that point we will proceed with the planned work.
We reserve the right to decline a service if, on inspection, we consider the watch unsuitable for the requested work, or if parts are unavailable and a suitable alternative cannot be agreed.
4. Timelines
An indicative completion date is provided at intake. This is an estimate based on current workshop capacity and typical service durations. Completion dates may be affected by parts availability, the condition of the watch once opened, or other factors outside our control.
We will contact you promptly if we anticipate a significant delay. We do not accept liability for losses arising from delays to completion.
5. Parts & Materials
Where original manufacturer parts are available and reasonably priced, we will use them. Where they are not, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you before proceeding. All parts used are sourced from reputable suppliers.
Parts supplied and fitted as part of a service remain covered under the applicable service warranty (see Section 8) for the duration of that period.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch, unless a deposit arrangement has been agreed in advance for high-value or extended work. We accept payment in Thai Baht by cash or bank transfer. All prices shown include applicable taxes.
Watches will not be released until the full balance has been settled. If a watch remains uncollected and unpaid for more than 90 days after completion, we reserve the right to issue a formal notice and, if unresolved, to apply a storage charge or pursue recovery under applicable Thai law.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel a service at any time before bench work begins at no charge. Once work has started, cancellation will be charged for the proportion of work already completed and any parts that have been sourced specifically for your watch.
If you wish to cancel, please contact us as early as possible. We will confirm the position in writing and agree a fair resolution with you.
8. Warranty
We stand behind our workmanship. Each service carries a 12-month workshop warranty covering the work performed and parts supplied. The warranty applies to normal use and does not cover:
- Damage caused by impact, dropping, or misuse after collection
- Water ingress where the watch has been used beyond the resistance level confirmed at service
- Wear arising from use inconsistent with the manufacturer's guidelines
- Faults in components not worked on during the service
To make a warranty claim, return the watch to us with your service record. We will inspect it and advise on the appropriate course of action without delay.
9. Care of Your Watch
Watches left in our care are held securely and individually recorded. We carry professional indemnity and contents insurance appropriate to the nature of our work. Watches are handled only by our trained staff.
In the unlikely event that a watch is damaged while in our care due to our own error, we will discuss the matter with you openly and seek a fair resolution. Our liability is limited to the repair or restoration of the watch to its pre-intake condition, or to the agreed replacement cost of any part damaged, up to the declared value of the watch at intake.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Thai law, Mainspring's total liability in connection with any service is limited to the price paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of use, or consequential losses of any kind.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, imagery, and layout — is the property of Mainspring or its licensors. It may not be reproduced, adapted, or distributed without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Terms applicable to a service already in progress are those in effect at the date the service was agreed.
